GREAT ACADIAN AWAKENING Local cultural event takes a fresh approach: Making the old new again by appealing to a younger crowd.
Monday, June 14, 2010 We were super excited to be chosen to create a brand and all of the things that go with it for The Great Acadian Awakening, a one-time (but maybe more than one-time) event coming up in Lafayette in the Fall of 2011. The goal is to create a vision and aesthetic that appeals to both older and younger generations of french-speaking folks, without forgetting the traditional culture they're carrying on. A website is in the works, as well as merchandise and other collateral materials. |
COME ON IF YOU'RE COMIN' DC's Blue Rhythm Boys pose awkwardly (our fault) in what appears to be a faraway land stuck in time, and stuck to an LP jacket.
Wednesday, June 9, 2010 This one's so hot it's still AT the presses, but it will be available to all the cool kids starting July 1. This monstrously awkward collage originally had a plastic palm tree in the background, but the client wondered if people might think it was a "beachy" record. Good point. We churched it up instead with the sacred southern staple, the live oak. What can I say? It's a poor man's sequoia. Mer.
We designed this one at 12x12, just in case the boys win the lottery and decide to press some vinyl. We'd be so delighted, you'd think WE had just won the lottery. Click here to view the project. |
